News from the Cubby Hole.....

Hello there!  Just wanted to let you know there are lots of new items in store at the moment and lots more to come.

WOODWARE stamps galore and all reasonably priced.  My creative team have been very busy with the new stamps from INDIGO BLU and more from WILD ROSE STUDIO.

Mark's preview night last Friday was a huge success...I am sure photos will follow.

We have postponed the dates for the next workshop ----aaargh!!!! But finally a date is set:-  "Texture Paste and Masks" will take place on:-

Saturday 6th July
1pm - 4.30pm
Cost £10

It is going to be a bit of an experimental afternoon; playing, painting and messing about with stuff!

Loyalty Card News!
Unfortunately the loyalty card is reducing to a value of £10.  It has been the same amount of £12 ever since I opended back in West Street.  My running costs increase all the time and I cannot compete with the various shopping channels that people seem to lured into.  I will obviously still honour your current cards.  I hope you agree that £10 is still a very good deal as I have compared myself to other stores up and down the country.  SORRY!
Other News
Mark and I are currently planning a Quiz Night.  We are thinking that it will be sometime in August.  There will be an entry fee but this will cover prizes, food and entertainment.

World's Biggest Coffee Morning
for MacMillan this year is Friday 27th and Saturday 28th September.

Artisan Market
Hopefully we are organising the Artisan market again.  Probably October so get creating for that....

Just a few ideas from "Rainsdrops on Roses".....

Stampendous "Garden Gal"

By Christine Costello

Stepper Card
Papers used are from Secret Garden by Graphic 45.  The main image I coloured with Pro-markers in co- ordinating colours, cut out and placed on top of an embossed panel, which has been brushed with Distress Ink, Antique Linen and edged in Aged Green embossing enamel.  Butterflies are doubled to add dimension, and the bodies embossed with Aged Green embossing powder again.  The sentiment is from my stash.

Fancy Square Card
Again I have used Graphic 45 Secret Garden papers for the background. Main image is coloured using Pro-markers in shades of cream and dusky pink, an extra layers
Cards are on display in the shop.  Products used are in stock.

Cards from Della

Two stunning cards from DELLA (the Tuesday group).  She loves a bit of twinkle....

CARD 1 - Della used the beautiful Indigo Blu stamps on her card.  Doesn't it look striking in red.

CARD 2 - A recent make and take.  A "Chloe" stamp created the central image which was then completed with a Memory Box butterfly die.  Ultra fine glitter and sparkly gems add the finishing touches....

Exciting News...

I am on a working party that is organising events to commenorate the centenary of WWI next year.  With lots of planning there will be loads going on.

Our annual poetry night will focus on work from the WWI poets such as Wilfred Owen, Rupert Brooke, Siegfried Sassoon etc.

We will also be creating art peices that focus on the significance of the poppy.  SUZANNE, MARK and MYSELF will be getting together soon to kick around ideas and look at cost etc.

So our working theme for next year will be "there's one corner of a foreign field".

A peep of journal pages from the past.....

Postcard Swap

AT LAST!!  A completed project!  Our postcards swap has now come to an end.  If you remember everyone had a 5"x7" piece of card which needed to be covered in background paper - just any scraps bits that I am sure you will have retrieved from your stash.

When this was done they were all swapped for the next bit.  We had to cut images from books, magazines etc and add them in a pleasing manner and here are some of the results. You can see all in the shop.

I really enjoyed this project - quick and easy!

Thank you to all who participated!  CAROL:)

What's New

We have been back from our travels for over a week now (bad performance of my PA, Suzanne) and we had a really relaxing time.  We were in the Normandy region of France - stopping first in the very pretty village - Veules Les Roses before crossing the Pont du Normandy and onto Honfleur which I never tire of.

We did not do a lot - pottered about, drinking coffee and eating cake!

I fiddled about in my journal and made a few cards - thoroughly enjoyed myself.  Did a lot of reading too.  I finished Animal Farm by George Orwell and also the Boy in Striped Pyjamas and am even halfway through another strange book - cannot believe it!!!

How are the journals going?

What's New
Now stockists of "Chloe Stamps".  Some really nice designs and reasonably priced too.  Our stamp of the month is "Flutterby Wreath"  I am sure you will love it!

Also some additions to our Indigo Blu range.  There will be a workshop coming up soon using these.

Have you used Memory Box dies?  Just a little intricate but very beautiful. Cutting is made easier with the metal shim.

The new "Wild Rose" range is expected soon complete with co-ordinating paper pads.

WORKSHOP
Texture pastes and masks - Saturday 1st June 1pm - 4.30pm.
A playful afternoon just messing about with stuff!!
Cost - £10
